Night-time flow: the cheapest way to catch leaks
Why don't your meters read zero when production stops?
One of the oldest leak detection methods in water networks is minimum night flow: flow measured when demand is lowest mostly reflects losses. The same logic works in industrial plants.
What to look at
Compare main and sub-meter readings during weekends, holidays or maintenance shutdowns. Flow that continues without production can mean leaking valves, hoses left open, faulty float valves or underground pipe leaks.
Manual or automatic?
Reading meters once a month will not reveal it. With hourly or minute-level data, the night profile emerges on its own and every abnormal night can trigger an alert. AquaCustos learns this profile separately for each meter.
